Citing sources in APA format

Two or more sources in single citation

When synthesizing ideas or claims that are repeated in multiple texts, cite all the sources of that information in a parenthetical citation after your summary of the information. Each source is placed within the parentheses in alphabetical order according to the first author of each source. Format the citation as you normally would but add a semicolon between each source.

Parenthetical Citation

The consequence of poor change management can be a decline in job satisfaction and subsequently reduced organisational commitment (Clugston, 2000; Newton et al., 2013).

This kind of citation never follows a quotation. Each of the sources is listed in the reference list as usual.
