Follow these rules of colour selection:

• Use only 3-4 colours.
• Don’t forget that photographs also add to your colour pallet.
  • If you are using a photograph, you might use the dropper tool help create an overall colour theme (this follows the principle of Repetition).
• Use a light background for your poster and text boxes with black font (this follows the principle of Contrast).
• Do not use a background with patterns
• Experiment with colour themes (e.g., contrasting, monochromatic, etc.).
• Use an existing colour theme available in Microsoft
