D2L - Instructor Guide

This guide is intended for helping faculties with setting up and maintaining their D2L Course.

How to Set Up a Survey

A survey is an excellent method of gathering feedback from participants about any aspect of a course. User opinions and information can be gathered anonymously or non-anonymously. In a survey, questions are not required to have right and wrong answers, and Likert-style rating questions are allowed.

How to create a Survey:

1. On the Navigation bar click "Assessments" and click "Survey".

2. To Create a survey, Click on "New Survey".

3. Enter Name in the "Name Field" and click on "ADD/EDIT QUESTIONS" to add questions to the survey.

4. Click "New" and select the question type or information item you want to create.

5. When the "MULTIPLE CHOICE QUESTION" type is chosen, enter the question in "QUESTION TEXT"  and provide the choices in the field and choose the correct answer on the right side (as shown in the below image). Now click on "SAVE AND NEW" to add more questions or click "SAVE".

6. After adding questions, Click "DONE EDITING QUESTIONS".

7. Click on "SAVE and CLOSE".

8. To preview the survey, click on the dropdown and click "PREVIEW".
