D2L - Instructor Guide
This guide is intended for helping faculties with setting up and maintaining their D2L Course.
Course Administration
All newly created D2L courses use a default setting of "inactive" and are not available/visible to students.
Course Activation
- Log in to D2L and select and enter the course.
- Click on Edit Course from the navigation bar at top of page.
- Click on Course Offering information.
- Scroll down and check the Course is active box.

Select Save at the bottom of the page.
Setting Time Zone to Qatar
The default time zone for our D2L courses is set to Calgary. Time zone change to Qatar is imperative for activities such as assignment due dates.
1. Click on dropdown next to your name on the top right corner
2. Click Account Settings.
3. Scroll down to Time Zone.
4. At Continent, select Asia.
5. At Time Zone, select GMT+3:00Qatar
6. Select Save & Close.
