Exams and Study Skills

Vocabulary and grammar tests rely on memory.

• Make a list of words you don't know.
• Make a set of flash cards for each word.
• Group words by their type (noun, verb, adjective, etc.).
• Use mnemonics which are memory devices that help you remember something. For example, the word FANBOYS is used to remember the names of coordinating conjunctions (For, And, Nor, But, Or, Yet, So)
• Take practice tests.
• Use all the study guides given in class or on D2L
