Why Is Academic Integrity Important?

“In the absence of an honest, moral environment, educational activities, such as research and work to earn diplomas, certificates, and degrees, lose their value for students and society at large” (The International Center for Academic Integrity [ICAI], 2021a, para. 5).

Fundamental Values of Academic Integrity

Academic integrity is based on the values of honesty, trust, fairness, respect, responsibility, and courage (ICAI, 2021b).
