In presenting information, here are some ideas to consider before you stand in front of people.

During your Presentation

Here are some tips to follow during your presentation:
  • Use the power poses outlined by Amy Cuddy to increase your comfort and confidence levels.
  • Practice breathing to help calm yourself. Breathe in for the count of four and breathe out for the count of four. Do this three times just before you present to prepare yourself for a successful presentation.
  • Remember the presentation trifecta: loud and clear voice; eye contact; and body language.
  • Maintain eye contact with your audience can be done in several ways. (link)
  • Remember to smile. This can be the first step to engage with your audience.
  • Use your cue cards to remind you of your main points.
  • Be aware of time limits and stick to your well rehearsed talking points.
