Take resources out of the library and bring back on a set date.

Get the book by placing a 'hold' request

Place a hold on a book or DVD you would like.

Visit the Learning Commons page to place a hold request on items not on the shelf. Click on "My Library Account" located at the top right-hand side of the page, as shown here.

  • Choose the option that best describes you as shown.

For students, faculty and staff use Ucalgary credentials to login details to see your library account.

  • Use the PRIMO search box to locate your resource(s).  CAUTION: make sure you find the book in the Qatar Campus Library.
  • Once it has been located, click on the title of the book.
  • You will see the possibility to "Request".
  • Click on "Request.

  • Now click on the "Sent Request" link.

 Details will appear as shown.

  • Click on "My Requests" to see all your requested items.

When the hold item has been returned, you will receive an email informing you that it is available for you to pick up.

If you require additional information, come to the Learning Commons at your earliest convenience.

  • You will have five days to pick up an item being held for you.
  • If you do not pick it up within five working days, it will become available to the next person waiting for it or it will be returned to the Learning Commons bookshelves.
