Patient Education

Why patient education?

Patient education ensures that patients are informed and educated about their health. This can include informing about side-effects of their condition, discussing diagnosis procedures, going through possible treatment options, and/or looking at possible prevention strategies. This education may help to eases patient while reducing anxiety and increasing their trust on care provider. This could facilitate patients and families to make informed decisions in their diagnosis/ treatment/ medication journey.

Nature (2018) define patient education as "a procedure in which individuals with health occupations impart information to patients about their own health status and needs".
