Images found in sites like Getty, Shutterstock, Fotolia, and many of Dreamstime images are licensed. Do not use them if you have not purchased it.

To check if an image found on the Internet is free of copyright, use the following steps.

1. Use Google/images page to see the directions below.
2. Click on the camera's icon
3. Enter the image's URL in the box provided or upload the image.

OR

1. When taking the image from a website, review the site's terms and conditions on restrictions or copyright. 

You can always re-check with the copyright office on main campus.
